Kelowna Breast Augmentation and Breast Surgery

Getting a “boob job” or “having your breasts done” doesn’t mean that every breast enhancement procedure requires silicone or saline implants, although few are aware of this fact. At his clinic in Kelowna, Dr. Brian Peterson explains that getting a larger breast size is not a breast lift; they are two different procedures that at times are combined.

The Queen of all plastic surgeries, augmentation mammoplasty (commonly known as breast augmentation) has been successfully changing the lives of women who have smaller breasts. Genetics plays a major role in breast size but there are other factors that lead to smaller breasts. As women lose large amounts of weight from transitioning to healthier lifestyles or from pregnancy, they find themselves in a similar scenario: decreased breast size. No matter what the reason for smaller breasts, the solution is breast augmentation. Saline or silicone implants not only increase breast volume, they also achieve greater symmetry when breasts are disproportionate to one another.

Breast augmentation surgery is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures and right on its heels is the breast lift, clinically known as mastopexy. While time will inevitably cause breasts to hang lower, Dr. Peterson has repeatedly reversed the effects of ageing by restoring youthful appearances with breast lifts. The breast lift is exactly what it sounds like; Dr. Peterson elevates the breasts by repositioning them to a desirable height. The mastopexy fixes the issue of sagging by removing excess tissue and tightening the skin around the breasts. It’s important to note that this procedure does not use implants.

Peterson Surgery strongly believes that you shouldn’t be limited to just one option; you can have the best of both worlds! As mentioned earlier, the two procedures can be combined, which is called breast augmentation mastopexy. The breast lift on its own can result in smaller breast size due to the removal of tissue and fat. The breast augmentation mastopexy will reshape, elevate and increase the size of the breasts by using either a saline or silicone implant. The procedure does not require two separate surgeries; the two components are completed at the same time.

Having breast enlargement or mastopexy, or the combination of both, are procedures that have immediate physical results. You might walk into the clinic not happy with your breasts, but you walk out reinvented with a younger look and feel! Breast augmentation, mastopexy or any other breast enhancement procedure might differ surgically, but the results are always the same: higher confidence and a better body image.
