If your droopy eyebrows are concerning you then you may be a good candidate for a brow or forehead lift. If you are wondering if a brow lift is right for you here are a list of the options available to you:
- Forehead lift
A forehead lift involves surgical mobilization and elevation of the forehead skin. which releases the bands of fibrous tissue that anchor the eyebrows to the bone structure below, called the superior orbital rim. This procedure is the most common brow lift procedure performed and can be accomplished using incisions either at or behind the hairline. - Direct brow lift
This procedure lifts the eyebrows without elevating the forehead skin. This is achieved by removing an ellipses of skin around the border of the brows. When this incision is closed the skin above the eyebrow is lifted, creating an elevated brow position. This procedure is typically performed on older individuals because the scars will be less noticeable on aging skin. - Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty, also called "double eyelid surgery" is a fairly popular procedure. A brow lift can also be performed during this surgery since it involves mobilizing the soft brow tissues from the underlying deep soft tissues by going in through the upper eyelid crease. An incision is made in the upper eyelid and the brow is secured at a slightly higher position. This procedure, however, can make it difficult for you surgeon to create your ideal brow shape, and does not rejuvenate the surrounding forehead, temple and lateral periorbital soft tissues and skin. - Fat grafting
The appearance of a brow lift can often be achieved using a fat grafting procedure alone since this method is very effective at restoring the soft tissue volume. By injecting the patient’s own fat into the brow/upper lid junction, the vertical distance between the upper lid crease and the inferior border of the brow creates the appearance of an aesthetically appealing and conservative brow lift.
