Are you thinking about having breast augmentation surgery once life returns back to normal? At our Kelowna clinic, we are offering telehealth services, including phone and virtual consultations, to give you all the information you need to make the most informed decision when it comes to cosmetic surgery.

A breast augmentation is one of the most highly requested surgeries in Canada and worldwide. When performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon, this procedure is a very safe and effective way to:

  • Restore lost volume to breasts that have become less full due to age, pregnancy, or weight loss
  • Correct breast asymmetry
  • Increase breast size
  • Improve the proportions of your body

Considering a Breast Lift, Breast Augmentation, or Other Cosmetic Surgery? Our Plastic Surgeons Are Offering Virtual Consultations to Discuss Your Needs

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are offering our current and prospective patients the ability to schedule a phone or virtual consultation with our plastic surgeons. This shift to telemedicine is a great way for us to continue seeing our non-emergency patients so that less time needs to be spent in the office once things return to normal.

Whether you want to order some of your favourite skin care products online, or discuss cosmetic surgery procedures, such as breast lifts or augmentations, our virtual consultations are a great way for us to meet all your needs.

What Happens During a Virtual Consultation For a Breast Augmentation?

Whether you need a consultation for a breast lift, a breast augmentation, or a body contouring procedure, a virtual or phone consultation is consistent with how our plastic surgeons might see a prospective client during a face-to-face visit.

During this consultation, we will ask:

  • For accurate medical history and if you have or have had health issues in the past
  • About any past surgeries you may have had, along with any medications you may be taking. This is to establish an accurate medical history to determine if a breast augmentation is right for you
  • About your aesthetic goals and what you want to accomplish with this procedure
  • For information regarding your expectations about this surgery

After evaluating your medical history, your expectations with regards to the surgery, and the photos we will ask to view during the virtual consultation, we will be able to best advise you if you are a good candidate for a breast augmentation.

How To Take Photos For Your Virtual Breast Augmentation Consultation

If you are considering a breast augmentation, the photos you send us should clearly show the area from right below your neck to above the belly button. Try to keep your arms to the side and relaxed. DO NOT raise your arms, as this will cause your breasts to lift.

Take as many photos as you can from multiple angles. Please do not wear any undergarments, as we will need to see the shape of your breasts so that we can make an accurate decision regarding your personalized treatment plan.

BENEFITS OF HAVING A VIRTUAL PLASTIC SURGERY CONSULTATION

What to Ask During Your Virtual Breast Augmentation Consultation

A virtual consultation isn’t just for your plastic surgeon to determine if you’re the right candidate for your desired procedure. It’s also an opportunity for you to get to know the surgeon and his/her staff and a chance to take advantage of getting expert insight into the realities of a breast augmentation surgery.

Here are some questions you should ask your plastic surgeon during this phone or virtual consultation:

  1. What are your credentials? Are you board certified?
  2. Will my procedure be performed in an accredited surgical facility?
  3. Who will be administering my anesthesia and who will be assisting you during the procedure?
  4. What are the pros and cons of different implants?
  5. Can I see any before and after pictures of patients with similar concerns and goals to mine?
  6. What can I expect on surgery day?
  7. What can I expect from the recovery, and how long will the recovery take?

I recently had liposuction done by Dr. Peterson to fix Coolsculpt I had had done that left me uneven. He was very professional, caring and compassionate and assured me everything could be fixed. I can't express my gratitude to Dr. Peterson for what an amazing job he did and how well he took care of me. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a plastic surgeon, in fact I have recommended him to many friends and they have all been very happy. My experience at the clinic was amazing, right from the beginning talking with Cynthia and the amazing care I got from all the nurses, I felt very special.
